A 3D model of runabout for Virtual Sailor 7

The readme file (or readme-runabout.txt), must remain with the archive and into your runabout directory in Virtual Sailor.

This model is now proposed as a donationware. More, doing a donation will allow me to develop other models for Virtual Sailor and its future updates. Developing serious models is really a long task and a real commitment once one is started. This model of runabout has been done for leisure sailings in Virtual Sailor 7. I wanted something new and rather unusual in VS and I wanted to model a rather detailed object with a realism note. Her behaviour has been meticulously worked out and I hope you'll use it with interest and fun, as much as I have had for building it.

The author will not be held responsible for any damage done to your computer or programs installed. By installing these add-ons, you fully agree with that term. However, in case of freezing or automatic restart of your computer, this is not the add-ons themselves which has been fully tested that will harm your computer but the unappropriated action you may do immediately after.

PLEASE, BE AWARE OF THESE RECOMMENDED MINIMUM HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS BEFORE MAKING YOUR DONATION AND DOWNLOADING THE FILES. LESSER HARDWARE CONFIGURATION MAY BE ABLE TO RUN THESE MODELS IN AN ACCEPTABLE WAY, BUT YOU DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

THERE WILL BE NO REIMBURSEMENT.

-----Utilization-----

Simply unzip the 3 "runabout" directories into their respective ones ("boats", "instruments" and "panel") of your Virtual Sailor 7 game.

Check "Use 24 bit Z buffer" on into your video settings of the game, Check "Specular lighting" on and check "Hide water in cabin" and "Show particles" off into your graphic settings option.

Wait about 10 seconds, depending on your system, for loading the runabout into the game. Do not switch off your computer while this process.

I'd recommend to set your water settings on "reflection" or "reflection + refraction" which is more realistic in closed waters. Water settings on "shaded" will be more appropriate in open seas however. I'd recommend to uncheck "see particules" into your boat options, in order to avoid the unrealistic too large bow splash at high speed.

This is a rather powerful runabout powered and max speed is 42.1kts, reached in about 25 secondes, like the real ones of this kind.
