The readme file (or readme.txt), must remain within the archive and into your GULBENKIAN_VSNG directory into Virtual Sailor NG. This VSNG version is an update for correctly working with the latest version of VSNG (Virtual Sailor NG 9.9.8). This VSNG update (May 16th, 2025): - New lights (be sure to press the "L" key of the simulator and you can select, Running lights, Anchor lights and Source lignhts or a combination of them 3). - Removal of the light mesh animation, now integrated into the main ship 3D mesh. - New railing (remove af the transparent-black textures of the railing and of a few other parts in order to get rid of the weird graphic effect with certain light conditions in the sim. All the railing has thus been remodeled) - New bump-mapping and reflection effects in order to adapt on how the sim manages them, quite diferently from Vehicle SImulator). - Some improvements on the 3D mesh of some objects - Improvement of a few various minor things (3D mesh, some texture's resolution, some cfg files...) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------TERMS OF USE:----- Purchasing this addon allows you to download the ship for an unlimited time, for your own computer only. But you MUST keep and save as back up all the necessary files the author or the online shop will provide you the first time you download. However, in case of freezing or automatic restart of your computer, this is not the add-ons themselves which has been fully tested that will harm your computer but the unappropriated action you may do immediately after. -----Recommended minimum hardware and software:----- 2,2 GHz Dual Core processor, 2Go Ram, GeForce 7800 graphic card with 512Mo graphic memory, Microsoft Windows XP, Vehicle Simulator. -----Utilization----- - Open the Ocean_Conveyor_VSF zip archive, then simply unzip all the content into the "vehicles" directory of your Virtual Sailor NG simulator. - Wait a few seconds for loading the cargo ship into the game. Do not switch off your computer during this process. - For a full load sailing, do set your ship's load into the ship'tab to 100%. For an empty load sailing, do set your ship's load into the ship'tab to 50%, the ship will then be raised and the draft will be significantly reduced. Of course you can choose any intermediate value in between these two for simulating a partially loaded ship. As in real life, speed, draft and behaviour of the ship will be affected by these changes of load. - This is an heavy, high draft and not powerful ship, with a maximum speed of about 20 kts at full load and 22.5kts at empty load, reached in a significant and rather long number of minutes like the real ones of this kind. Like the acceleration, the decceleration is very slow as well. Keep that in mind when sailing and maneuvring. - To display the bump-mapping effect, be sure to have your "Vehicle shaders" and "Vehicle shadows" ticked on into your vehicle graphic options of the simulator and the "Simple Vehicle Mesh" box UNTICKED. - For proper functioning of the propeller and rudder, be sure to have this "Simple Vehicle Mesh" UNTICKED as well. Bump-mapping will still appear in a lesser realistic way if only "Vehicle shaders" are ticked on ("Vehicle shadows" off) but with much better frames per second (fps). For lower systems, you can choose to tick off these two options, there will no longer be bump-mapping and shadows and advanced calculation of lighting onto the model, but it will still be enjoyable to sail with that ship.
