My name is Dominique Vaccaro, I'm currently living in Marseille, South of France and I'm a ship buff, especially passenger ships like yachts, cruise ships, liners and ferries. Drawing, designing ships or building ships models is my passion since my childhood when I began to study them with care (or I should say with obsession) and enthusiasm. I then managed to acquire some technical background and to experience a short maritime career. Some years ago, I discovered and began to use 3D software with great interest. How to join these two passions? ...This mega-yacht OCARINA and this web site is my answer and I hope this will turn into a professional activity very soon and DVO MARINE Design will become a reality. This ship was modeled and pictures are rendered with the powerful NURBS modeler Rhinoceros 3D (www.rhino3d.com) and its basic renderer since this job is focussed on modeling and architecture. Several things have still to be done, like detailed interior renderings of some rooms that will be available very soon.
This web site was put together for the purpose of presenting a know-how, capabilities, style and passion of designing ships and yachts to its visitors. I'd be glad if a yacht owner, a shipyard, a naval / yacht design company is interested in my work and would like to study a possible collaboration with me, either regarding passenger ships design, either regarding 3D software.
